Kenyan Lawrence Cherono won the Chicago Marathon as the Mo Farah of Britain neglected to maintain pace and finished eighth.
Cherono, 31, who also won the Boston Marathon, outsprinted Asefa Mengstu and Ethiopians Dejene Debela who were third and second .
Farah finished more than four minutes adrift in two hours, nine minutes.
Fellow Briton David Weir was next in the mens wheelchair race.
