Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder says pressure is on to start scoring
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder takes his side have to better their record also has faith in their own forwards to do.
The Blades have scored only seven goals this season, without a player netting.
But Wilder, whose team had been beaten 1-0 at home by Liverpool last weekend, is convinced his players have the capacity to find the back of the web.
He explained:Weve been happy we have got the balance right, which I thought we did Saturday, in terms of the functionality, when to proceed, and if to take that opportunity to attempt to score.
You have got to try and score against those teams! You cant just park yourself to the edge of the box for 95 minutes – .
But you have got to know teams are going to push one back. Liverpool, not that our fans might like it, could have more possession!
We believe that our personal ability near the peak of the pitch, if we get the performance right and we create chances, weve got the capacity to score.
The strain on to score. Like I said, we are going to need to get the things that we want.
After the Liverpool match, Wilder told journalists the feelings of goalkeeper Dean Henderson not bothered him, following his mistake allowed Georginio Wijnaldum to evaluate that the Reds winner.
Those comments created a controversy, but Wilder has hit back, saying that his players will constantly have his whole support.
Sometimes people say things to make debate and drag something out – but I did not think there was something in it, he said.
It is as we manage. The players – Dean included – are mentally tough, with the travel that they have been and where they have come from on.
Last year, together with pressure situations at the rear end of this season, they are tough men and we develop a difficult mentality within the category.
Im the biggest supporter of those players with a million miles – myself and my staff. I know what they are about, what they give for the soccer club and Im their biggest supporter.
Dean knows that, from a single perspective. Theres no hiding place. He moves and all of us proceed to another Premier League game
